Frederic Dimsdale was born on 27 Nov 1823 source Non-Conformist Birth Records (TNA Reference RG5 / Piece 103 / Folio 99)
From a newspaper article in The Standard 21st Sept 1860 regarding the theft of Jewellery, it would appear that Frederic Dimsdale also went under the name of Frederick Johnstone of 10 Curzon Street, which was the Census address of Frederick & Jane in 1861, so I consider that Jane's marriages in March Q & Dec Q were to the same man under 2 different names.

According to the 1861 & 1871 Census Caroline Roselina Blackie Dimsdale was born in Germany

Jane CW Featherstonehaugh's death was registered under both Featherstonehaugh and Dimsdale, with the same reference

      I hope this is useful

The original registration form for Frederic Dimsdale from the Dr.Williams Library show the place of Birth at Hadley in the Parish of Hadley in the County of Middlesex, it bears his fathers signature. It includes his Maternal Grandfather and with 2 original wills I hold and his parents marriage certificate it tie him to my family tree. Newspaper article on court case involving his mother, 2 brothers & Frederic gives plenty of information that ties up with his first wife and with information in the 1860 case of Frederick Johnstone to link the 2.
