    Notes
    • in the birth registration index appears Featherstone, Thomas Sep 1841 St George in the East MDX 2.75 BUT THIS IS A DIFFERENT Thomas!!!

Thomas Christopher Featherstone's actual birth date is 4 August 1841 (This is fact.) It is family documents and also on his tombstone. Lynn

Thomas Christopher was born and raised in London. he is NOT the father of William George but the son. Thomas Christopher married a Martha as well, only her last name was Mackglew.

I'm still having difficulty in my search but my grandmother Minnie Eliza Featherstone was the daughter of Thomas Christopher Featherstone and Martha McClew. Minnie's brothers and sisters were: Thomas George, Amy Lizzie, Catherine Henrietta & Robert Henry Thomas was the son of George who was the son of Thomas & Martha (Town) married in Kent in 1812. colleend@jaggednet.com

To be honest I don't know for sure whether William George was born in London or not. He was married at St. Giles without Cripplegate though. Also, I am calling him William George because his marriage certificate refers to him as William (no middle name listed) and his son's marriage certificate has him listed as George. You are welcome to add them to your Kent files. Remember that Thomas Christopher was born and raised in London. he is NOT the father of William George but the son. Thomas Christopher married a Martha as well, only her last name was MacGlew. I am seeking data on the father of William George who is also a Thomas and Thomas' wife was also a Martha; but her last name is Town. For sure they were married at the Parish of Boxley in 1812. I have made contact with the Kent Research Centre to see if they can get further records on these two. Lynn P. Burdick lpburdick@roadrunner.com

To the best of my somewhat limited knowledge, my line did not leave the U.K. until abt. 1871 when my great grandparents, namely Thomas Christopher Featherstone and Martha (nee: Mackglew) along with their then three children Lizzie Amy, Catherine Henrietta and Thomas George. They settled in Arnprior, Ontario, and had two additional children born there. Robert Henry who is the grt. grandfather of Lynn Burdick and Minnie Eliza who is my grandmother.
Note: my grandfather was married first to Catherine Henrietta then later to the younger sister Minnie. Thomas snr., Martha, Catherine Henrietta & Thomas George are all buried in Arnprior, Ont. (not Hamilton). Minnie Eliza is buried in Vancouver, B. C. (Note: There is another Robert Featherstone that was apparently raised by my great grandparents Thomas & Martha. He was married to a Scottish lady named Agnes and they too moved West and resided in Surrey, B. C. until their deaths. (I'd heard that this Robert was either adopted or quite possibly the nephew of Thomas & Martha but I'm not certain at this time). Colleen & Dennis [colleend@jaggednet.com]

Martha married a Thomas Christopher Featherstone, age 20, in Shoreditch. The first three of their five children were born there. From Martha's marriage certificate dated 1861, it lists her age as 19, but she could have been about 15 or 16 at the time, and lists her father as William McClew, occupation, Painter, which is in keeping with the family history. • However, I do have the original marriage certificate for William Featherstone who married Catherine Hunter on 8 September 1839, St. Giles Cripplegate, London. William's name was listed as George in his son's marriage certificate. I figure the name was probably William George Featherstone.
