'James Rodgers 'Red' Featherston, 93, of Memphis, formerly of Marked Tree, owner-operator of Featherston Meat Co. and Marked Tree Firestone Store and president of Marked Tree Equipment Co., died at Cordova (Tennessee) Rehab & Nursing Center. Services will be at Marked Tree First Baptist Church, where he was a member, with burial in Marked Tree Cemetery. Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis has charge. He was a World War II Navy veteran, president of Marked Tree School Board, a Mason, a Shriner, American Legion commander and a member of the Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce and Poinsett County Developmental Council. Mr. Featherston, the husband of Maxine Featherston, also leaves a daughter, Susan Coates of Monroe, La.; a son, Mike Featherston of Memphis; two sisters, Vera Odom of Gulfport, Miss., and Wanda Swafford of Fort Smith, and five grandchildren.
