It is situated near the source of the river Tone. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Bath and Wells, value £310, in the patronage of G. H. Carew, Esq. The church, dedicated to St. Mary, is a fine structure in the decorated English style. The register commences in 1562. Here is a National school for both sexes.
